Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash this morning in Rice Lake Township.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the corner of Martin and Howard Gnesen roads. A DirecTV truck and Toyota sedan collided, and the truck was left upside-down in the intersection while the sedan went down an embankment along Martin Road.

According to Steve Steblay, supervising deputy with the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, the truck was eastbound on Martin Road and ran the stop sign at Howard Gnesen Road. The truck driver, Christopher Brown, 34 of Proctor, tried to avoid the collision at the last minute.

"Upon striking the Toyota, the truck rolled over," Steblay said.

Both Brown and the Toyota driver, Gwendolyn Rouse, 52 of Duluth, were the sole occupants of their vehicles and both were wearing seatbelts.

Brown was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. He was cited for failure to yield at the stop sign.
