Riders on Duluth Transit Authority buses must now enter through the rear door, according to a news release.

The new policy comes in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with hopes of limiting drivers' exposure to the virus, the release reads.

“We are putting the emphasis here on the health of our drivers, and to ensure we can continue to provide the transportation the community needs," DTA General Manager Phil Pumphrey wrote in the release.

People with mobility impairments or mobility devices can still use ramps at the front of buses.

The policy will be in effect until further notice.

DTA will continue updating riders on its website, duluthtransit.com.
