Eastbound traffic on Grand Avenue near 59th Avenue West in Duluth will be detoured beginning Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.
The detour will be right on Raleigh Street, left on Central Avenue and back to Grand Avenue. Westbound Grand Avenue traffic will not be affected.
The detour will be in place for about one week as crews paint the Interstate 35 bridges over Grand Avenue.
Motorists traveling east on Grand Avenue should allow extra travel time to reach their destinations and expect backups, MnDOT said.
The bridge-painting is part of the I-35 Mega Project. Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume throughout the project area by late October.
