Spirit Mountain executive director to speak at West Duluth luncheon

The new executive director of Spirit Mountain Recreation Area will be the featured speaker at Wednesday’s luncheon meeting of the West Duluth Business Club.
The event, held once a month, is open to the public.
This week, Brandy Ream will share her vision of the city’s ski hill, which has year-round offerings. She supervises the recreation area’s operations, which include an adventure park, mountain coaster, mountain biking, alpine skiing, snowboarding and other activities.
Before taking the Spirit Mountain job, Ream was director of development and business operations at Ski Bluewood in Dayton, Wash. Before that, she managed the Boston Mills and Brandywine ski areas in Northeastern Ohio. She also has been a business and marketing consultant for other resorts in the Midwest.
Wednesday’s luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. in the banquet room of Mr. D’s Bar & Grill at 5622 Grand Ave. in Duluth. The cost is the price of food off the menu. Email wdbc1902@gmail.com to reserve a spot.
