A local firm is giving away reusable grocery bags ahead of implementation of Duluth's "bag-free" ordinance.

The first 100 people to visit the Swim Creative offices, 310 E. Superior St., Suite 220, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays will receive what the agency calls "The Incredible Grocery Bag." The 20-by-15-by-5-inch bag can be spot-washed and features a reinforced 23-inch strap.

Any donations given in return for the bags will be passed on to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, Swim Creative said in a news release.

The city's ordinance requires retailers to charge at least 5 cents for every plastic bag consumers use. It goes into effect April 1.
