The attached photo was taken just about one year ago -- July 20, 2009, to be exact. It shows the St. Clair (left) and Edward L. Ryerson laid up at the Fraser Shipyards in Superior during the middle of the shipping season.
As the economic situation has improved, so has the situation for one of those ships. The St. Clair is sailing again, and is due in Two Harbors today to load iron ore pellets.
The Edward L. Ryerson, however, remains idle.
