The 1,000-foot Mesabi Miner heads under the Aerial Lift Bridge on Wednesday morning and out into Lake Superior to start the 2013 shipping season for the Twin Ports. The Miner is delivering coal to Presque Isle, Mich., and is expected back in port on Saturday to load iron ore pellets, along with the CSL Tadoussac, which will arrive to load taconite. The American Century is scheduled to leave port on Saturday for Silver Bay to load iron ore pellets and the Indiana Harbor is scheduled to leave for Two Harbors to load iron ore pellets.
