After closing at the start of the pandemic, the Dovetail Cafe and Marketplace will celebrate its grand reopening on Friday. The cafe, located in the Duluth Folk School at 1917 W. Superior St., will initially be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
The redesigned cafe has been optimized for health and safety. Customers will be able to come in, purchase items to-go or order items to enjoy in the cafe.
The cafe is making a concerted effort to source organic and/or local ingredients for its menu options according to a news release. The menu will bring back customer favorite items such as homemade quiche, browned butter chocolate chip cookies, vegan and gluten-free options and a curated beer list. New to the menu will be items such as hand pies, curried chicken salad and roasted root vegetables with a toum sauce.
