Hoops Brewing Co. in Canal Park temporarily closed Friday due to a staff member testing positive for COVID-19, according to a Facebook post.
The employee contracted COVID-19 from a social setting that was not associated with Hoops, the post reads.
As a result, the Duluth brewery will deep clean and disinfect the beer hall, as well as identify people who may have been exposed to the staff member and give them time to be tested during its closure.
The brewery has "strictly enforced" employee mask use and social distancing throughout the facility, the post says.
Late Friday, Fond-du-Luth Casino in downtown Duluth told WDIO-TV that they had an employee test positive for COVID-19. According to a release, casino management took immediate action to begin tracing potential other employees who were in contact with the infected person. They did not say whether or not the casino had or would be temporarily closing.
