Grandma's Restaurant Co. announced Wednesday it is temporarily closing Grandma's Saloon & Grill and Little Angie's Cantina, both in Canal Park, after employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The company temporarily closed the Grandma's downstairs kitchen and restaurant in Canal Park on Friday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, but left the upstairs pub and patio open. Those are now being closed.

The employee at Grandma's Saloon and Grill has not worked since July 21.

"We feel it is the best practice to temporarily close the entire restaurant and we will be asking all employees who have had close contact with this employee to self-quarantine at the direction of the Minnesota Department of Health," a Facebook post said.

The employee at Little Angie's Cantina has not worked since July 22 and has not had any contact with the general public, but the company said it was going to temporarily close the restaurant "out of an abundance of caution."

"For both closures, we will be taking this time to continue to clean and sanitize our facilities as well as allow our team to seek out professional medical guidance according to their individual needs," the Facebook post said. "For our guests, we are happy to answer any questions we can, but seeking out advice from a health professional is the best guidance."

The Grandma's Restaurant on Miller Hill in Duluth will continue to operate.
