An area trash-collecting business is offering free Christmas tree pickup.

Twin Ports Trailer Trash will pick up and dispose of trees from Duluth, Superior and Hermantown residents Jan. 6-7.

Owner Bernard McCarthy said it's the second year his business has offered the service.

"Last year’s tree pickup service was so successful we will do it again. An added bonus — all tree pickup customers also get a swag bag of goodies left on their doorstep," McCarthy said in a new release Monday.

For pickup, trees must be left curbside and bare — no ornaments, lights, garland, tinsel or other decorations. Artificial or flocked trees and wreaths will not be accepted.
