News Tribune announces layoffs to its advertising team

On Wednesday, the Duluth News Tribune laid off eight members of its advertising team. The layoffs were a result of the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent impact to the News Tribune’s advertising revenue.

"Just like nearly every news organization and countless other businesses across the country, Forum Communications is feeling the impacts of the pandemic," Forum Communications Company President and CEO Bill Marcil, Jr. said. “We have recently had to make many difficult decisions in order to continue delivering the essential services we provide to our communities."
