Meetings planned for Tower Avenue work

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold two public meetings this month to discuss a design alternative for the reconstruction of Wisconsin Highway 35 (Tower Avenue) between Belknap Street and North Third Street.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold two public meetings this month to discuss a design alternative for the reconstruction of Wisconsin Highway 35 (Tower Avenue) between Belknap Street and North Third Street.

Construction is projected to begin in the spring of 2013 and be finished that fall. Construction costs are estimated at $7 million.

The meetings will focus on proposed streetscape design and construction staging. WisDOT and city of Superior representatives will provide a formal presentation followed by discussion about the proposed concepts and displays. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide written comments and ask questions concerning the project.

The meetings are scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Lake Superior Room, 1701 N. Fourth St., in Superior.
