Learn about Community Supported Agriculture at open house in Duluth

Want to get fresh produce right from a local farm? You can all summer long and into fall through Community Supported Agriculture.
And Friday’s your chance to learn more about it.
The second annual Local Community Supported Agriculture Farm Open House will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Clyde Iron Works, 2920 W. Michigan St. in Duluth.
Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a partnership between small, local farms and consumers who pay for a season of regular deliveries of fresh produce. Some farms also provide meat, eggs, cheese, preserves and other farm products.
More Twin Ports-area farms are offering delivery of their fresh produce this year. Growers of 10 local CSA farms will at the open house to talk about their programs and to sign people up for the 2014 harvest.
The open house is held in conjunction with the Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association’s annual Farmers Take the Stage event and fundraiser, which will run from 7-9:30 p.m., also at Clyde Iron Works.
The Farmers Take the Stage event is $10 per person; the open house is free. For more information on the open house, visit csaguild.com.
