A section of the Lakewalk will be closed for almost two weeks beginning Monday.
A city of Duluth news release said Lakewalk traffic will be detoured in a section of the Lakeside neighborhood while workers install a force main under the walkway between 47th Avenue East and MuCulloch Street. The work is part of an ongoing project to eliminate sanitary sewer overflows.
A detour route is marked. Lakewalk users will turn south at 45th Avenue East to London Road and reconnect to the Lakewalk at 51st Avenue East. For those six blocks, cyclists are asked to walk their bikes.
The closure is expected to last until Feb. 17.
