Owners of the Iron Mug in Morgan Park announced Friday that it would close its doors for good this month.

Owners Shirley and Mike Letica reopened the business in June 2018 after it closed in May 2018. Now, after 15 months of running the business, the doors of the Morgan Park staple will close once again.

"We kept it open a little longer than we should have because we knew the Iron Mug was an important part of the community," a Facebook post said. "At the end of the day, you have to be able to at least pay the bills with the profits from a business and, unfortunately, that wasn't able to happen."

The Iron Mug will close at the end of business Saturday, Sept. 14.

"We appreciate the loyal supporters who patronized us over the past 15 months," the post said.
