Duluth's long, hot summer of road construction just keeps growing. Work on another major thoroughfare --Glenwood Street -- started Tuesday.
Work crews will remove pavement starting from 60th Avenue East and working their way west to 42nd Avenue East in the Lakeside neighborhood until the 2010 construction season ends. The project will be finished in 2011.
City officials say the project's contractor will work to keep access to residential properties as much as possible throughout the project. Starting July 13, weekly progress meetings will be at
7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the corner of Glenwood Street and 54th Avenue East. Representatives from Wagner Construction, Salo Engineering and the city of Duluth will be on hand to discuss the progress of construction and plans for the coming weeks. Residents are invited to attend the meetings to stay informed or to ask any questions. The update also will be available at www.saloeng.com/glenwood .
Questions about this project can be directed to David Bolf of Salo Engineering at (218) 727-8796 or Matt Decur with the city engineering office at (218) 730-5200.
