Downtown Duluth's Lark O' the Lake Cafe won't reopen, according to its Facebook post .

The cafe, located in Greysolon Plaza at 231 E. Superior St., opened around five years ago to increase awareness of local aviation and to help fund the Duluth Aviation Institute's Path to Aviation program in local public schools.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and resulting stay at home executive orders, the cafe was required to temporarily close in mid-March.

"We sincerely thank our customers for their patronage, all our past employees for their contributions to our success, and our community for the opportunity to creatively engage in historic preservation through entrepreneurship," the post read.

The cafe's profits supported the Duluth Aviation Institute, the post read. Now, cafe ownership will find other ways to support the institute's preservation and educational goals.
