The future of energy use in Duluth is getting a closer look over the next nine months as city officials work to develop a community-wide energy use and conservation plan.
The effort kicks off tonight with the first of a series of meetings from 6:30-8p.m at Lake Superior College, 2101 Trinity Rd. in Duluth, Building S, Room 2964.
Citizens, business owners, anyone involved with transportation, industry or agencies is invited to be part of the effort to develop a 10-year plan on how to reduce energy use while bolstering a thriving economy.
The so-called "Community Wide Energy Plan" will be developed over a series of meetings between now and May. The effort will try to develop short- and long-term goals in residential, commercial-industrial, public sector and transportation energy areas.
