Traffic will be detoured from Minnesota Highway 61 and Scenic 61 onto East Superior Street and 60th Avenue East beginning April 8.

Congdon Boulevard (Highway 61) will be closed north of 61st Avenue East during construction of a pedestrian tunnel for the Duluth Lakewalk beneath the road. The project should be completed by June 19.

While the detour is in a place a temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of 60th Avenue East and Superior Street. City officials caution drivers that there will be traffic congestion and delays because of the closure. If possible, take alternate routes around the construction.
