Felony charges against a Hermantown man accused of racking up tens of thousands of dollars in unearned overtime and making personal purchases with his employer's credit card have been dismissed.

Daniel Aaron Nelson, 39, faced two felony counts of identity theft for financial gain and one felony count of fraudulent writings in Douglas County Circuit Court. The charges were dismissed after a preliminary hearing Wednesday. Court Commissioner Rebecca Lovejoy could not find probable cause to bind the case over for arraignment and all three charges were dismissed, according to court minutes.

Nelson was accused of submitting false overtime hours and misusing credit cards while employed by the Superior branch of FABCO, a Caterpillar equipment and engine dealer on Moccasin Mike Road.
