  • Duluth was awarded a franchise yesterday in a revived Northern League, an independent baseball minor league that's expected to begin play in June 1993. Bruce Engel, who was awarded the Duluth franchise, said the team will be called the Duluth Dukes.
  • Ground was broken in International Falls last week for a museum honoring football legend Bronko Nagurski, but the foundation supporting the project needs more funding.
