HIRES AND PROMOTIONS
* Duluth Clinic hired the following physicians:
Nicole Schimke, D.O., a general surgeon, graduated from Des Moines (Iowa) University with a medical degree. Schimke completed her residency at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Podiatrist Boni-Jo Silbernagel, D.P.M., graduated from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. Silbernagel completed her residency at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pa., and is board certified through the American Board of Podiatric Orthopaedics and Podiatry.
General surgeon Thomas Wambach, M.D., graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he also completed his residency training. He is board certified in surgery.

Manaf Zaizafoun, M.D., was hired as a hospitalist, an internal medicine specialist who treats patients in the hospitalsetting. Zaizafoun graduated from the University of Tishreen in Syria. He completed residency training at Tishreen University Hospital and at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland.
* Weichert, Realtors Twin Ports promoted Rachel Hagen to real estate agent after serving as office administrator for more than two years. She will serve residential needs of clients in the Twin Ports. She is a member of the Duluth Area Association of Realtors.
Hagen, of Duluth, earned a bachelor's degree in music from UWS and recently earned the designation of Realtor. As a musician, she is affiliated with the Itasca Symphony Orchestra, the Duluth-Superior Symphony Chorus and UWS music ensembles. She has 10 years of experience as a private music teacher and eight years of experience in catering.

* The Salvation Army in Duluth announced a change in business hours at the Thrift Store at 215 S. 27th Ave. W. The new hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call 722-7934 for information.
