HIRES AND PROMOTIONS
* Jim Peterson, a partner at Falsani, Balmer, Peterson, Quinn & Beyer, was named a Super Lawyer for 2009 and also named one of the top 40 attorneys in Minnesota in the practice of workers' compensation. The article will appear in the February/March issue of "Who's Who in Workers' Comp."
AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
* Brian Barber, an illustrator from Duluth, and Peggy Snow, a Minnesota author, received a Moonbeam Children's Book Award for "My Favorite Sounds from A to Z." The book, which is published by Maren Green Publishing, won a Silver award in the Alphabet/Counting book category.
The Moonbeam awards are a juried competition, intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children's books and their creators and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading. They are presented by Jenkins Group and Independent Publisher Online, and 2008 medalists were chosen from 1,085 entries.
