Attorney Robert R. Kanuit, formerly of Kanuit & Bray law firm in Hermantown, will join Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick law firm effective Oct. 1. He will work in the firm's Duluth office, practicing in bankruptcy, real estate law, business law and formation, and wills and trusts.
Kanuit received his bachelor's degree from Macalester College in St. Paul in 1990 and graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul in 1994. He is a member of the 11th District Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Federal Court for the District of Minnesota, Wisconsin State Bar Association and Federal Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. He also is a member and chairman of the city of Hermantown Board of Appeals and Adjustments.
Allied Health Chiropractic announced Dr. Alia Hussain will head the Duluth office. Hussain is from Minneapolis and grew up in the Twin Cities area. She takes a holistic approach to health care with a focus on nutrition and wellness care. She earned her doctor of chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences in Bloomington, Minn., and her bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota.
Involta announced the following people were hired in Duluth. Lisa Bodine was hired as regional sales director.
Lucas Mistelske joined the company as data center manager.
Pamela Schmidt is an administrative assistant.
Mike Peterson was hired as a systems administrator.
Kyle Olson joined as a network administrator.
Tim Isakson was hired as a data center technician.
The Minnesota Ballet hired six new dancers for the 2012-13 performing season. Three of the new company members most recently danced for Milwaukee Ballet II: Michael Agudelo, who trained at the Harid Conservatory and the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts; Sam Neale, an Australian native who trained at McDonald College in Sydney and danced with its Premier State Ballet; and Emily Reed, who trained in Chicago at Ruth Page Center of the Arts and was one of the first trainees in that city for the Joffrey Ballet.
Rebecca Bruch trained at Ballet Chicago and the New York City Ballet's School of American Ballet; Marco Clemente trained at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts and danced for the Dayton Ballet; and Alana Gergerich trained with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Ballet Performance.
Senior Friend Home Care announced the following personnel changes. Registered nurse Sandi Kienzle was named executive director. Kienzle joined Senior Friend Associates Inc. in 1997 and was director of nursing and a registered nurse case manager before her new position.
Barb Poulter, also a registered nurse, was promoted to director of nursing. Poulter joined Senior Friend in 2006 as a registered nurse case manager.
Citon Computer Corp. announced Stephen Riddell was hired as an accounting assistant. Riddell has more than six years of customer service experience and primarily will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts and assisting customers in all aspects related to accounting.
Deidre Bouvine of Superior joined the team of stylists at E'Clips on the Lake. Bouvine has been in the beauty industry for more than four years and offers men's and women's haircuts, colors, facial waxing, manicures and pedicures. She learned the Sassoon hair-cutting techniques at Cosmetology Careers Unlimited and is continuing her education as a stylist.
Reasor Companies Inc. announced Duluth native Scott Herrington was hired as director of advertising and marketing. Herrington will maintain and update company websites and social media, design and implement digital and print advertising campaigns, write press and new product releases, implement e-mail marketing and coordinate manufacturer promotions. A member of the Minnesota Air National Guard since 2003, Herrington was named the Air National Guard's best new journalist of 2011 for his work in the 148th Fighter Wing's Public Affairs Office and recently was named the 148th Fighter Wing Headquarters Group noncommissioned officer of the year. He studied graphic design at Duluth Business University.
