  • Les Grumdahl Window and Siding recently received the 2013 Eagle Award, which recognizes United Products Corp.’s top contractor in each region. The award is based on the contractors’ integrity, customer satisfaction, leadership and innovative business practices.
  • Real Living Messina and Associates announced Julie Carlson, Cheryl Ekstrand, Mary Beth Nevers, Matt Privette, Michelle Peterson, Nicki Conrad, Sherri Pearson, Steve Carlson and Wendy Deibele received the Premier Service Diamond national award for providing superior customer service to home buyers and sellers in the Duluth area. To qualify to become a Premier Service Diamond award winner, agents must receive a minimum 95 percent customer satisfaction rating.
  • The League of American Bicyclists announced the Duluth YMCA, Continental Ski and Bike, Twin Ports Cyclery, Duluth Coffee Co., Barr Engineering, Aerostich, Ski Hut and Clyde Iron received the Bicycle Friendly Business designation. The LAB reported that businesses with the designation are taking steps to make bicycling to their business safer and more convenient for their employees and customers.

  • The University of Wisconsin-Superior Center for Continuing Education announced the following people completed a certificate program: Jeff Anderson, Stacey Rootes and Emmanuel Tucker completed the Mediation and Conflict Resolution Program. This program meets professional requirements for Rule 114 Qualified Neutral Status in Minnesota and Chapter 767 Family Mediator Status in Wisconsin. Garrett Gondik, Sherry LaFave, Stacey Rootes, Jessica Schubring and Andrea Yezek completed the Paralegal Certificate Program. This program prepares students to work as a paralegal, legal assistant and office support staff member in law firms, government agencies, private business or nonprofit organizations.
