Motorists traveling between Duluth and the Twin Cities on Interstate 35 can expect a new source of delays beginning this week.
In a release, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said repairs on 14.5 miles between the Pine-Carlton county line and Mahtowa will begin around Monday and should be completed around mid-September. From about the end of July to mid-August traffic will be limited in a single lane in each direction.
Also, the William A. Culkin Memorial Highway Rest Area on northbound I-35 near Mahtowa will be closed for about a week just before the Labor Day weekend.
