Hearing set in Cook County on bioenergy production
Cook County will hold a public hearing next week to help
decide whether to start community-based bioenergy production.
The County Board and the Cook County Local Energy Project are behind the effort to determine the short- and long-term environmental, economic and social impacts of using woody biomass in Northeastern Minnesota.
The public meeting will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Cook County Courthouse.
Dovetail Partners, a Minnesota-based nonprofit group, will lead the effort to determine the feasibility of biomass energy production in Cook County. Dovetail Partners has expertise on the technologies available and their impact on the environment.
