Two people were injured -- and one of them airlifted to Duluth -- after a single-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning on Nett Lake Road near Orr.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reported that a Pontiac G6 driven by Parker Drift, 20, of Cloquet was traveling eastbound when he lost control because of icy conditions. The car rolled twice and came to rest on its roof, trapping Drift and a passenger, Garrett Morrison, 20, of Nett Lake, inside.
Drift was transported by ambulance to Essentia Health-Virginia and later airlifted to Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, where he was reported in stable condition Sunday night. Morrison was transported by ambulance to Cook Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash, the sheriff's office reported. The accident remains under investigation.
The Orr Fire Department, and Orr and Virginia ambulances, also responded to the scene.
