Music starts around 9 p.m. and it's free. Call 728-1192. [2007 FILE/NEWS TRIBUNE]

Chris Barnes (photo) headlines and Scott Derenger keeps ’em laughing at Dubh Linn this Saturday. The repartee starts flying at 8 p.m. at the Irish pub at 109 W. Superior St. Local word has it that Barnes is truly hilarious; his track record at Dangerfield’s in New York and Zanies in Chicago, among many others, is strong. You can hear Scott Derenger on his Web site ( www.shaveyourhead.com ). He’s had, he says, a checkered past — line-dancing waiter and naked club DJ — and he’s been spinning wit and wordplay about it ever since. Cover is $10, call 727-1559, or go to www.dubhlinnirishpub.com .
