BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Law officers are still looking for a wife who is thought to have gunned down her husband in rural Dodge County in far southeast Minnesota on Friday, March 23. The Blooming Prairie woman is believed to be armed and dangerous. She is Lois Ann Riess, who is 56 years old, 5-foot-5, 165 pounds with brown eyes and light blonde hair.
MOORHEAD, Minn. – Moorhead Police have identified the homeowner who was injured in a fire that has been ruled an arson. According to information released Thursday, March 22, Constance Gail Thompson, 64, was home alone when she called 911 to report her house at 1924 29th St. Circle S. was on fire around 9 p.m. Monday, March 19. Thompson was taken to the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for treatment of injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

ST. PAUL -- Drunken driving arrests were up 28 percent over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Minnesota compared to last year. Sgt. Jesse Grabow of the Minnesota State Patrol said there 424 arrests from 6 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Monday, compared to 331 last year. Of the arrests, 370 were made by the State Patrol, almost double over last year. Grabow said the average on a weekend in Minnesota is 285.
MINNEAPOLIS—The University of Minnesota women's basketball team is headed back to the Big Dance for the first time in three years. The Golden Gophers were awarded the No. 10 seed in the 2018 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament and will face No. 7 seed Green Bay in Eugene, Ore., on Friday, March 16, in the Spokane region.. MINNEAPOLIS -- Authorities have arrested a 37-year-old Minneapolis man in Florida in connection with the shooting death of another man in Minneapolis. Antwan Darnell Cosey is in custody on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to the Minneapolis Police Department, which gave the following details of the crime and subsequent arrest:

FERGUS FALLS, Minn.—Minnesota's most notorious drunken driver— arrested for DWI 28 times—is again in a state prison. New York Mills construction worker Danny Lee Bettcher, 65, was sent to the St. Cloud state prison for 4 1/2 years for his latest felony conviction for refusing to submit to a DWI test last week in Fergus Falls district court. The DWI charge was dismissed.
