Marathon registration opens Tuesday

With the 38th Grandma’s Marathon hardly in the rearview mirror, it’s time to think about No. 39.

Registration for the 2015 marathon opens at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, with a starting entry fee of $90. The price gradually increases, starting Sept. 1, when it climbs to $95. Registration is accessible at

The 16th-largest marathon in the U.S., Grandma’s had slightly fewer than 8,000 runners sign up for last weekend’s 26.2-mile race along the North Shore.

Registration for the accompanying Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and William A. Irvin 5K races will take place in February and March, respectively.

The 39th Grandma’s Marathon is set for June 20, 2015.
