Marcellus Coleman of Duluth runs the trails near Northwood Children's Services in Duluth Tuesday. Possibly the youngest Gary Bjorkland half marathon runner ever, Coleman is a ward of the state, residing at Northwood Children's Services. He'll be turning 12 on Friday, the day before the marathon. Johnson is turning 40 on the date of the marathon. They’ve all stepped up their training to run the full marathon because it’s the 40th race in the year of their 40th birthdays. Not long after stepping into his custom-fit Intrepid Dynamic Exoskeletal Orthosis for the first time, in June 2015, Josh Revak (left) was sprinting pain-free, something he hadn’t done in almost a decade. Revak, a 1999 Duluth Central graduate, suffered severe shrapnel wounds in his right ankle in a mortar attack while serving in the 1st Armored Division in Iraq in 2006.
