Superior speeds past opponents in Packy Paquette Invitational

Strong individual performances from juniors Jake Libal and Lauren Magnuson helped Superior run past its competition at Saturday’s Packy Paquette Indoor Invitational at     Wisconsin-Superior’s Lydia Thering Fieldhouse.

Libal won the 55-meter dash in 6.81 seconds and the 220-meter run in 23.96 to help the Spartan boys score 187.5 points, topping second-place Northwestern (126).

Magnuson claimed first in the same events, in 7.63 and 27.48 respectively, to pace Superior’s girls past second-place Eau Claire North, 150-135.5.

Superior also won the combined points title with 337.50, while Eau Claire North (239) and Northwestern (182) took second and third in the six-team event.
