Prep report: Lindstrom named to AP All-State first team second year in a row

Jessica Lindstrom added another postseason award to her collection Friday.

For the second consecutive season, the Superior High School senior was named to the Wisconsin Associated Press first team after leading the Spartans to the championship game of the Division 1 girls basketball state tournament. The 6-foot-1 Lindstrom averaged 21.2 points and a Northland-best 17.04 rebounds per game to propel 24-win Superior back to state. She added 3.6 assists and almost three steals per night en route to being named Wisconsin’s senior post player of the year by the Wisconsin Sports Network and a top-three finalist for Miss Wisconsin player of the year.

Lindstrom will play collegiately at Division I Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Another Spartan, Hailey Kontny, was named all-state honorable mention. The senior guard averaged 19.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, and was an integral part of helping Superior reach new heights the past couple of seasons. Kontny is a Minnesota Duluth recruit.
