Hockey: Hermantown's Krause signs AHL deal

Hermantown native Adam Krause has signed a one-year American Hockey League contract with the Rochester Americans, the team announced Tuesday.

Krause, a two-time captain at Minnesota Duluth, is entering his third full professional season since capping a four-year college career with the Bulldogs that included 16 goals and 21 assists in 133 games.

Krause spent his first two pro seasons playing in the Pittsburgh Penguins system for the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. He had four goals and seven assists in 29 games at the AHL level and 27 goals and 29 assists in 76 games at the ECHL level in two seasons.

The Americans are the top minor-league affiliate for the Buffalo Sabres.
