Schedules for 2017-18 in the WCHA have been delayed following the termination of North Dakota's women's hockey program, forcing teams to scramble to replace the four league games lost against the Fighting Hawks.

In nonconference play, UMD will start the regular season by hosting Penn State the weekend of Sept. 29-Oct. 1 before traveling to Boston College the following week.

The Bulldogs will also face Bemidji State in nonconference play in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game on Nov. 6 in Isanti, Minn., and travel over Thanksgiving weekend to the Windjammer Classic in Burlington, Vermont. That tournament also features Colgate, Vermont and RIT.

UMD will play three exhibition games against the Minnesota Whitecaps as well. One comes at the start of the season on Sept. 23, another to open the second half of the season on Jan. 6 and again on Feb. 3.

In WCHA play, Minnesota visits Amsoil Arena the weekend of Oct. 20-22 for a 2017 NCAA quarterfinal rematch while Wisconsin comes to Duluth the weekend of Feb. 9-11 for a rematch of the WCHA Final Face-Off Championship.

Another weekend to note is the Bulldogs' Jan 19-21 WCHA series at St. Cloud State. The city of St. Cloud is hosting Hockey Day Minnesota that week and the series between the Bulldogs and Huskies could be a part of the festivities.
