Golf: Defending Arrowhead champ ousted

There will be a new champion at the Arrowhead Invitational golf tournament as defending champ Dan Moline was upset by No. 17-seeded Jason Patronas in the second round of match play Friday at Ridgeview Country Club.

Other big upsets included former Hermantown hockey and golf standout Dylan Kolquist, who as the 30th seed beat No. 3 Kevin Oswald, before falling to Matt Mellin in the second match of the day.

Second-seeded Tom Mueller and 2015 champion Taylor Sundbom both advanced to the third round. Sundbom will face 29th-seeded Shane Johnson, who upset No. 4 Mark Anderson in the opening match.

The third round of match play is today, and the Arrowhead Invitational concludes Sunday with semifinal and championship matches.
