College women's basketball: 'Jackets roll past Northland

Jade Tucker scored 12 points as Wisconsin-Superior jumped to a 19-9 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 63-24 victory over Northland College in UMAC action Wednesday night in Ashland.

Fourteen players scored in a balanced effort for UWS (7-2 overall, 3-0 UMAC), with Hannah Norlin adding nine points and Hailey Kontny of Superior chipping in seven points. The Yellowjackets outrebounded the Lumberjills 40-29 in improving to 35-0 in conference play since joining the UMAC in 2015.

Ashton Meadows had six points and four rebounds off the bench to lead Northland (1-8, 0-2 ), which couldn’t overcome 28 turnovers and 19.5 percent shooting.
