The Duluth Huskies announced Monday that longtime manager Daniel Hersey is no longer with the summer baseball team.

The news came the day after the Huskies finished their 2017 season with a loss to the Waterloo Bucks, to finish the season with a 31-41 record.

It was Hersey's eighth season coaching the Huskies. He compiled a record of 278-283 over that span, and a 3-3 record in playoff appearances in 2013 and 2015.

"The Duluth Huskies want to thank Daniel for his years of service, dedication to the players of the Northwood's League and wish him all the best in his future endeavors," the team said in a prepared statement.
