College skiing: St. Scholastica's Dickinson 27th at championships
St. Scholastica's Kelsey Dickinson placed 27th in Thursday's 5-kilometer race at the NCAA Skiing Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
The senior was the seventh skier to go off in the individual classic format, in which competitors are released in 30-second intervals, and finished in 16 minutes and 47 seconds. She was 27th in a field of 40 and third among Central Collegiate Ski Association entrants.
Dartmouth's Katharine Ogden came across in 14:47 to claim the individual title.
Dickinson is appearing in the championships for a program-record third time. She concludes her college career Saturday in the 15K freestyle.
