College women's soccer: Saints earn first win of season
St. Scholastica pitched a shutout in its UMAC opener Wednesday, beating North Central 5-0 in Minneapolis for its first win of the season.
Sophomore goaltender Roni Rudolph of Duluth East stopped all three shots she faced.
The Saints (1-3-1 overall, 1-0 UMAC) and Rams (3-2, 0-1) were tied 0-0 at halftime.
Rachel Dixon put the Saints on the board in the 50th minute, Hannah Zeis gave the visitors a two-goal lead in the 58th and Becca Rancour promptly buried North Central with a hat trick in a three-minute span.
After outshooting the Rams 6-1 in the first half, the Saints finished with a 17-3 advantage.
