Huskies fall again to Border Cats in Duluth
The Duluth Huskies struggled to plate baserunners in a 6-2 road loss to the Thunder Bay Border Cats in Northwoods League action at Wade Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Duluth (6-4), which was the road team due to Thunder Bay's home ballpark undergoing renovations, out-hit the Border Cats 9-7 but was 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. The Huskies also left 10 runners on base.
Kyle Hubbuch drove in Duluth's only runs on an eighth-inning double.
Like in Wednesday's contest, the Border Cats (4-6) got on the board early. Noah Stroll drove in two runs on a bases-loaded single in the first inning. That was set up by a Duluth error.
Stroll again plated two runs two via a single in the eighth inning, and Duluth would commit another defensive blunder to bring their league-leading total to 25.
Duluth hosts Willmar at 6:35 p.m. today at Wade Stadium.
