Chisholm's Schroeder running strong in Iditarod
Chisholm musher Nathan Schroeder was running in 14th place in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race on Thursday.
Seventy-five mushers out of the starting field of 78 remained in the race as of Thursday night.
Iditarod veteran Aaron Burmeister of Nome — who has finished as high as fourth place, in 2012 — was the first musher to leave Galena, at 6:26 a.m. Alaska time Thursday. He spent just 19 minutes at the checkpoint and has yet to take either of his required rests.
Defending champion Dallas Seavey — who has taken an eight-hour rest — was the second musher out of Galena, at 8:48 a.m.
