Why do I need to register/re-register? Some newspapers have chosen to incorporate a paid subscription model for online content. DuluthNewsTribune.com content remains free. Like surveying done in broadcasting we feel it is important to know more about our audience for the sake of sustaining an advertising supported website. User demographic information is helpful in product development and advertising sales. This valuable information is gained through the one-time registration process. DuluthNewsTribune.com does not give out or sell user lists or names; however we may deliver targeted messages on behalf of our advertisers. You do have the option of opting out of all DuluthNewsTribune.com e-mailings. If you chose not to register for DuluthNewsTribune.com's local news articles you can still enjoy many other areas on our site; classifieds, weather, AP articles, video, audio and special features to name a few. Why was my registration rejected? If you have tried to register and are getting an error message you may need to delete your browsers cache. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools | Internet Options. In the “General” tab, near the center, you will see the option to “Delete Files…” Select this button to clear your cache. Reload DuluthNewsTribune.com and try registering again. I registered yesterday. Today it doesn't recognize me. In order for DuluthNewsTribune.com to recognize you, you’ll need to make sure your browser is set to accept cookies. How do I set my browser to accept cookies? Check if your browser is accepting cookies. A “cookie” is a small piece of information that enables us to automatically recognize you as a registered visitor when you return to DuluthNewsTribune.com. Also, if you request a section or feature that requires registration, you will be asked to sign-in or re-register each time. I need to change my email address/password If you need to make changes to your account, log in to your DuluthNewsTribune.com account, then select “Member Center” from the menu on the left hand side of the page. In the member center you can change any of your information. When you’ve made the necessary changes or additions, select “Update Account.” I forgot my log in information If you have forgotten your log in email or password, enter your email address in the “Forgot your password” field on the Log In page. Your password will be emailed to you. If you do not receive your password, check your email’s junk mail folder, it may have been diverted there. If it is not there, you may not be registered. Are articles still free? Content on DuluthNewsTribune.com is offered in the same way as before; we just have a different look. Articles are free to view within 7 days of being published. After 7 days, an article may be purchased for $2.95. How do I email/print articles? If you would like to print an article, select the words “Print this article” next to the icon of a printer in the top right hand corner of the page. This will bring you to a printer-friendly version of the story. Then you may select File | Print to print your article. If you would like to email an article, select the words “Email this article” next to the icon of an envelope in the top right hand corner of the page. This will bring you to a small form that you may fill out before email the article. When you have entered the necessary information, select “Send this article.” Where can I find archived articles? To search DuluthNewsTribune.com’s archives, select “Archive” from the menu on the left hand side of the page. This will take you to our Search page. You can customize your search to narrow it down as needed. |
