Restaurant inspections

The Duluth News Tribune obtained copies of the most recent inspection reports of all traditional sit-down restaurants and kitchens that have a high amount of prep work in Duluth, Hermantown and Proctor. According to the St. Louis County Health Department, which conducts the inspections, the most important aspects for consumers to know about a restaurant are the critical violations, those that are most likely to contribute to a foodborne illness, and the number of repeat violations. Most violations are typically corrected by the required compliance date, which may be the day of the inspection or up to 30 days for non-critical, construction type violations, the health department said.
