Reader's View: Kennedy will focus on inclusion as councilor
Among a strong field of candidates for two open At Large seats on the Duluth City Council stands a true gem. Janet Kennedy is a person whose dedication to the well-being of our community and its residents has been demonstrated in her career, volunteerism, and civic involvement.
Kennedy is an astute listener and critical thinker who takes to heart the issues that profoundly impact people's lives and seeks out solutions to address both immediate concerns and strategies that bring about lasting positive change.
Examples of her proactive community leadership include her work as a Duluth Planning commissioner, co-chairwoman of the Cross-Cultural Alliance of Duluth, member of the mayor's Imagine Duluth 2035 Vision Committee, and staff member for Duluth Health in All Policies. In each of these capacities, Kennedy brings a valued perspective on the needs of a broad sector of our community and how we can work together to build upon our strengths.
Her authenticity, open-mindedness, and focus on inclusion in decision-making will be an asset to the City Council in its service to our community.
I encourage Duluthians to take positive action and vote for Janet Kennedy for City Council on Nov. 7.
