Reader's view: Our selfie culture a sign of final times
This is regarding the Jan. 4 story, "A selfie critique: Alicia Eler's book 'Selfie Generation' considers self images."
First, how fitting that "selfie" was 2013's word of the year, as it was that year when President Barack Obama, during his inauguration, essentially exalted himself as God, which could have been seen as the opening of the first seal, as described in the biblical books of Revelation and Thessalonians.
Second, Eler's book title, "Selfie Generation," perfectly reflects what is written in 2 Timothy: "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves."
Yes, we are in the last days. According to what was shown to me from reading the book of Acts, war soon will break out in Asian waters, and at least one of our Navy destroyers will be nuked. Then, in accordance with Revelation, a fireball is to be thrown to Earth; there also will be an earthquake. Heads up on Oct. 15 (possibly this year): We can expect a CME/EMP (solar coronal mass ejection/electromagnetic pulse) to burn our trees, grass, and powergrid. Revelation also foretells of a nuke and an asteroid destroying our drinking water. And these events will only mark the beginning of sorrows.
No, I am not setting any dates. God did that. He revealed His secret from the book of Amos to me in a raised-banner vision a few years ago in line with writings in Jeremiah. Unfortunately, the vision faded before I could retain the year; however, if the 70-year clock referred to in Jeremiah started in 1948, then 2018 is plausible.
I strongly urge all to stop looking at themselves and their iPhones and to look up. For, as Jeremiah reads, "The lion has come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of nations is on his way ... to make (our) land desolate."
