Carolyn Marjorie Morrow Willman

Carolyn Marjorie Morrow Willman

Carolyn Marjorie Morrow Willman of Hillsboro, Ore. died at home on March 8, 2018 at age 92. She was born in Carroll, Iowa, June 25, 1925, to Marjorie Gail and Orville W. Morrow. Carolyn graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, Class of 1942. She worked for Bankers Life after graduation. Carolyn met her future husband, Lt. Robert John Willman, of Duluth, on a blind date and 3 months later they married. While Robert was serving overseas, Carolyn moved to Duluth to live with Robert's parents after the birth of their son, Bobby. After the war, their daughter, Carol, was born. Robert and Carolyn raised their children in Chicago. After the children were grown, they lived for several years in a Finnish-built log cabin in Cable, Wisc. At nearby Telemark Lodge, Carolyn fulfilled her longtime dream of owning a gift shop, Timber Trail. Enjoying their love of golf together marked some of their happiest times together while living in Wisconsin, Florida and Arizona. At the close of their lives, they moved to Portland, Ore. to live near their daughter. Carolyn was an accomplished gardener and homemaker. And, if she had been given the opportunity to pursue higher education, she would have likely become a librarian. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert.

She is survived by her son, Bob Willman (Sonja), of Glendale, Mo.; her daughter, Carol Willman Hunt (Frank) of Portland, Ore.; her grandson, Justin Willman (Jillian) of Los Angeles, Calif.; her granddaughter, Ashley Obradovits (Michael) of Webster Groves, Mo.; and her great granddaughter, Piper Sonja Obradovits, Webster Groves, Mo.; and nieces, Ann Trehan and Christine Archambeault. We will hold our mom and grandma forever in our hearts. A private memorial service will be held at Oneota Cemetery.
