Carol Lavonne Torgerson

Carol Lavonne Torgerson

Carol Lavonne Torgerson, 84, on December 3, 2017 the Lord held Carol's hand and took her to her heavenly home. She was born on May 3, 1933 to loving parents, Ervin and Marie Torgerson in Ortonville, Minnesota.

When she was eight years old she moved to Duluth with her parents and family where she lived a long and fulfilling life.

Carol attended and graduated from Morgan Park High School. After graduation Carol was employed by Mutual Loan Company, Selective Service, and then U.S. Bankruptcy Court as bankruptcy clerk, where she worked many years until her retirement.

She was a very special person. Her kind loving and gracious ways touched not only the lives of her family relatives and friends, but many others.

Carol had a number of interests during her life. During her younger years and growing up, figure skating and activities occupied a great deal of her free time. She was an avid reader; her most loved book being the Bible, which was a great help to her in her church work and teaching Sunday school at the Riverview Methodist Church. Family life was always at the top of her list and everything connected with it, such as playing cards and word games (which she was a whiz at).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Marie; brother-in-law, Richard Magnuson; and nephew, David Falk.

Carol will be greatly missed by her four sisters, Donna (Gus) Johnson, Shirley (Bill) Larson, Vera (Dave) Falk, and Judi Magnuson; two brothers, Gary (Lori Rick) Torgerson and Philip (Roberta) Torgerson; several nieces and nephews that were all very special to her and many dear friends.

A special thank you to the staff of Edgewood Vista and the Essentia Health Hospice team for their compassion and care to Carol.

Visitation: 1:00 until the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N 56th Ave. West, Duluth. Please leave a memory of Carol or words of support for the family at
